As soon as you enter Maften Hall's impressive driveway, you just know that you are going to find something special at the end. Sir Hugh and Lady Blackett have carefully restored the Hall into a magnificent country house hotel set in some of Northumberland's most stunning countryside.
Nestled alongside is the extremely pretty village of Matfen within walking distance of the hotel.
Each of the bedrooms is wonderfully opulent, but traditionally so, and at the same time, all the modern amenities are there. Great care has been taken to preserve many original features, such as the ornate ceilings, drawing room fireplace and library, now a cosy, book-lined dining room. The quite magnificent Great Hall, with its massive pillars, is a breathtaking venue for private dining, wedding receptions and corporate use.
